Gummy Text
We'll begin this tutorial, by changing the foreground to E680DB, then go ahead and choose the text tool. I chose "Joan" as the typeface but it really doesn't matter. The type size is 60.
Now that you have your text, you can now right click on the text layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Drop Shadow".
use the settings at left
Do not click OK yet... still more to do
Now click on the "Inner Glow".
use the settings at left
You may now click OK
You should now have the below image if done correctly.
Next, "Ctrl" click on the text layer in the Layers Palette to create a selection and create a new layer. Now go to the main menu and click "Select" then "Modify" and "Contract" and enter 2 and click "OK." Change the foreground to white and then go to the main menu once again and click "Edit" then "Fill." Choose foregroound as the fill and click "OK."
Now click the "M" key on your keyboard to select the "Marquee Tool" and using the arrow keys on your keyboard, move the selection to the left twice and down twice. Now hit "Delete" on you keyboard and deselect the selection. Now go to "Filter" then "Blur" and lastly "Gaussian Blur." The radius will .5%. Click "OK."
Now we can add some flavor crystals. Create yet another new layer and fill with white. Now go to "Filter" then "Noise" and lastly "Add Noise." Amount = 400%. Make sure both "Gaussian" and "Monochromatic" are both checked. Click "OK."
Now go to "Selection" then "Color Range" and select black as the sample color. Click "OK" and hit "Delete" on your keyboard.
Next, "Ctrl" click on the text layer and then go to "Selection" again then "Inverse." Hit "Delete" on your keyboard again and deselect the selection. Turn the "Fill" down to 15% and your done.
The Results!!!
